Terms & Conditions

1. Membership Terms & Conditions

1.1  Membership Tiers

Wheelhouse offers three membership tiers, each providing open access to the studio, equipment, glaze, and materials (clay and studio glazes included). Firing is included for pieces up to 25cm made at the studio. Larger pieces requiring a half- or full-kiln load are subject to a small surcharge.

Available tiers:

  • Lite: €145/month (incl VAT)

  • Regular: €195/month (incl. VAT)

  • Plus: €260/month (incl. VAT)

All memberships include storage for personal materials and work in progress, access to one community event per month, and a 10% discount on workshops and courses.

1.2  Getting Started

A one-time setup fee of €5 and a €20 key deposit are due at the start of your membership. The key deposit is returned when your membership ends and the key is handed back.

If you join mid-month, your first payment is prorated based on the remaining days in that calendar month.

1.3  Payment

Membership fees are due on the 1st of each month, paid in advance. A minimum commitment of two (2) consecutive months applies to all memberships.

Late payment beyond a 15-day grace period will incur a 10% surcharge on the outstanding amount.

1.4  Unused Hours

Unused studio hours roll over month to month, but only for as long as your membership remains active. If your membership ends in April, for example, any unused hours from previous months cannot be used after that date.

1.5  Changing Your Membership Tier

You can move between membership tiers at any time. Changes take effect from the start of the following month. Contact us in writing to request a change.

1.6  Pausing Membership

Memberships cannot be paused. If you need to step away, the standard cancellation policy applies.

1.7  Cancellation

To cancel your membership, please provide one month's written notice. Your membership remains active until the end of the notice period; no refunds are issued for unused days within that period.

When your membership ends:

  • Return your studio key (the €20 deposit is then refunded)

  • Collect all personal materials and work in progress

  • Storage beyond your membership end date is charged at €40/month, by prior arrangement only

1.8  Trust & Shared Responsibility

Wheelhouse operates on a trust-based model. We rely on every member to follow studio rules, respect shared equipment, and help maintain the space. This means cleaning your workspace at the end of each session, handling equipment with care, and being considerate of the people around you.

Members are responsible for holding their own personal liability insurance covering use of the studio and its equipment.

1.9  Termination by Wheelhouse

Wheelhouse reserves the right to terminate a membership immediately and without refund in the event of:

  • Non-payment of fees

  • Repeated or serious breach of studio rules

  • Damage to equipment, materials, or the space caused by misuse

  • Conduct that is disruptive, unsafe, or harmful to other members

Where possible, we will address concerns directly before taking action. We want every member to thrive here.

2. Liability, Indemnity & Miscellaneous

2.1  Liability

Wheelhouse is not responsible for any loss, damage, or injury to the Member, their belongings, or any third parties while using the Studio facilities.

2.2  Indemnity

The Member agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Wheelhouse, its founding members, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, or damages arising from the Member’s use of the Studio.

2.3  Changes to This Agreement

Wheelhouse reserves the right to modify this Agreement at any time. Any changes will be communicated to the Member in writing. Members will have the option to accept the revised terms or terminate their membership.

2.4  Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Amsterdam.

2.5 Membership Rights & Governance

Membership of Wheelhouse grants access to the studio and its programming. It does not confer voting rights, ownership, or governance participation in the association. These are reserved for founding and active members as defined in the association's articles.
